At Blue Valley Author Services, we enjoy offering options. Every product we offer can therefore be ordered on an ala carte basis. For further savings, however, we also offer a variety of package deals to help our clients save even more money, while still receiving top-notch professional service and products.

- Policy on excessive changes
Some authors/clients provide very clean copy; others request changes late in the game, after formatting has begun. If the extent of the changes are minimal in number, we happily provide this service free of charge. However, others need far more changes made. Excessive changes to a manuscript after formatting has begun requires extra time spent on a project. Therefore, limits to what we “do for free” must be set.
Therefore, effective immediately, here is our new policy on excessive changes.
One round of up to 20 changes to the text will be provided free-of-charge.
If more than 20 changes are required, clients will be invoiced at a rate of $0.75 USD per change.
If additional rounds of changes are requested, The per-change rate will be $0.75 USD per change, starting from the first change.
Our best advice: submit clean manuscripts that are already fully edited and proofread, to avoid excessive change-fee surcharges. Never use formatting as “a proof-copy” prior to editing or proofreading, or just to “see what it looks like,” as that will lead to additional fees.
If a project submitted has too many apparent errors, Blue Valley Author Services reserves the right to refer the author to obtain more editing help, or to turn down the formatting job if that becomes necessary.
Our goal is to work with our clients (publishers and authors alike) to create the best eBooks possible, so if we suggest you obtain more editing for a project, please trust that we do so only to make your book the best it can possibly be.

Formatting does NOT include uploading deliverables to Apple, KDP, Kobo Writing Life, Nook Press, Smashwords, CreateSpace, or Lightning Source. We deliver the uploadable content for the use of the client, be they an author or a publisher; we do NOT upload it for you.
After the initial formatting is complete, we provide an approval copy of your book in the target format. (Usually .mobi for eBook and PDF for print books.) Formatting is the final step of the publication process, other than uploading, so all manuscripts are expected to be delivered in fully edited, polished form. That said, we understand that mistakes can still be uncovered, even at this late stage. If the author needs more than one revision pass, or submits revisions that are deemed by Blue Valley Author Services to be extensive (e.g., a complete rewrite of the original work, submitting a new manuscript, more than 20 minor corrections), we reserve the right to charge revision fees on a per-change basis as outlined above. If revisions are required AFTER the book has been published, and not due to an error on our part, Blue Valley Author Services reserves the right to chage either a revision fee or a new project/reformatting fee, depending on the extent of the revision. Also, if, after publication, the author decides to release a completely revised and brand new edition of a book, it will be treated and priced as a brand new project, not as a revision of the earlier work.
